SkinGear
SkinGear was a group exhibition curated by BMI Collectif and taking place at Le Sample in Bagnolet, Paris, in August 2024.
SkinGear is a flesh envelope that mutates alongside the body’s limits and gets thicker as it becomes a costume of protection, empowerment, and emancipation. The title is a reference to the famous video game MetalGear, but uses the softness and maleability of the body’s surface to imagine a weapon each of us already owns to navigate the world. The exhibition is built as a route part of a game in which the visitors are invited to embody the characters created by the artists.
