Douces Amères was a group exhibition currated by BMI Collectif and taking place at La Volonté 93 in Saint-Ouen, Paris, June and July 2024.

Douces Amères refers to the unsettling sensation that finds its way under the skin, mixing pleasure and discomfort. The 9 FLINTA artists build tales throughout the exhibition, expressing their experiences of violence and grief. Marks left on their skins raise matters of identity and consent that their bodies encounter inside the familial, religious, public or digital institutions. They digest their past and regurgitate them in strange shapes, hybrids entities of their emotions. These fantastic creatures tell stories of pain and loss, coating them with the sweetness of tales.

Douces Amères is an inventory of feelings that shape us, tasting like tears, sweat, pixels and candies.
